Why Kennel Train Your Puppy

Kennel training a dog is one of the best things you can do for both you and
your new puppy. Dogs instinctively gravitate towards places that feel “den-like.” If
you decide not to offer you puppy a crate you may notice that they hide under
chairs, tables, and even blankets. This is because they are looking for places that
offer comfort and will naturally gravitate towards small, enclosed spaces. You can
use this information as piece of mind that crate training your dog actually makes
them happier.
Kennel training a dog creates a more peaceful environment in your home.
Your puppy will feel the safety and security of their new den. They will know what is
expected of them and where they can go to reduce anxiety and overstimulation.
Kennel training will also make potty training significantly easier. Dogs dislike
dirtying their own spaces and will resist using their own bed and blanket as a toilet.
If you crate train early enough you will notice that potty training was much easier
than you thought! Crate training is also beneficial for when you need to restrict your
puppy from an area of your home but don’t want to shun them to a room alone with
other potential hazards. Using a crate allows your puppy to still be with the rest of
the family but safe in their own space. You can also use a crate to help confine your
puppy from the rest of your home when you leave the house. This can help prevent
damage to your home as well as prevent potential safety hazards to your puppy.
